Tales of Life

•October 17, 2009 • 4 Comments

The earths’ population is estimated to be about 6.79 billion people.                                                                                                                          Likewise, the same number of tales can be told. Everyone is unique and special. Everyone has a different walk of life, but there are some, who stand out from the crowd – wanted or unwanted.

Some undergo danger on a daily basis by carrying out jobs under highly extreme conditions. Others devote their lives to extraordinary and sometimes high-risk hobbies or lifestyles. A few are remarkable, because they have cheated death. Several have to carry heavy burdens, but still try to enjoy every second to the fullest. Others risk their life for their county. But of course there are many more touching stories.

Despite all the differences, they have one thing in common – they live on the edge.
I want to devote my blog to those people, because they deserve to be written about. The way, in which they manage their lives is often not only astonishing, but also inspiring. They deal with difficult circumstances, but nevertheless always try to fulfill their dreams by pushing all limits. My intention is to find out more about their hopes, fears and expectations. And maybe along the way we can learn something about ourselves, because deep in their hearts, they are often just normal people like you and me…

I hope I can take you on the journey with me through different tales of life.

•December 11, 2009 • 4 Comments

Imagine being in crystal clear and calm water at one of the most beautiful beaches on earth. The morning is perfect to surf. While waiting for the next wave to come, you relax on your board with one arm lying on it and the other dangling in the cool water. Suddenly you see a lot of gray, followed by pressure going through your arm, caused by a few fast tugs. The next thing you notice is the water turning deep red, all happening in a few seconds.  That’s how long it took for a shark to bite off your arm.

How would you react? Giving up your passion surfing and never go into the ocean again? Or would you work up all your courage to get on that board again? Continue reading ‘A Shark took Bethany´s Arm, but not her Passion’
